Our team of professionals have developed a system to help repair our state-of-the-art FusionTHPPanels. To repair your FusionTHPPanels, please follow these instructions: |
| Step 1 - Sand the area to be repaired with the appropriate grit sandpaper and clean the area with acetone. |
| Step 2 - Mix standard resin with the catalyst as recommended by the manufacturer. (Note: Follow safety instructions.) |
| Step 3 - Larger areas will require glass fiber reinforcement and standard resin. Smaller areas only require standard resin. Spread resin and glass fiber (if necessary) on the clean area as needed. Smooth area using a putty knife. Several layers may be necessary depending on the area size. After curing, the work surface is suitable for sanding. Shrinkage will occur. |
| Step 4 - After the standard resin is cured, sand with fine grit sandpaper until the surface is completely smooth and even. |
| Step 5 - Mix repair gel coat with catalyst as recommended by manufacturer. (Note: Follow safety instructions.) |
| Step 6 - Spread a thin film of catalyzed gel coat on the surface and cover with mylar film. Or, spray a thin layer of catalyzed gel coat using a spray gun. |
| Step 7 - If using mylar, work gently to eliminate all air bubbles from the gel coat. Work out the edges of the new gel coat film to avoid all ridges and high spots. |
| Step 8 - A heat source may be used to accelerate the curing process. If applicable, remove the mylar film.
CAUTION: Do not use open flame or excessive heat as this will damage the surface. |
| Step 9 - Further treatment in case of any visible ridges or high spots: polish or wet sand gently with fine grit sandpaper and apply a second layer of catalyzed gel coat. Repeat as necessary. | |
